COLLECTION THE BOTTLES Inviting Epicureanism or an aesthetic quest, this collection expresses above all the cult of secrecy. The object does not say so much as the reflections which brush against it or hide in it. We will choose to stick to tableware in the infinite range of pleasures they offer. Or would we prefer to venture into "Le Flacon" by Baudelaire which inspired these paintings: There are strong perfumes for whom all matter Is porous, it looks like it penetrates the glass (...) Sometimes we find an old bottle that remembers From whence springs all alive a soul which returns (...) Who release their wing and take flight Azure-tinted, glazed with rose, gold lamés (...) Here is the intoxicating memory that flutters In the troubled air; the eyes close: Vertigo (...) Dear poison prepared by angels, liquor That eats away at me, oh the life and death of my heart

I come from a family of Flemish painters. When I was little, I was taught to paint the light. But I already needed to tear up pieces of magazine paper to put together kind of imaginary puzzles that I covered with paint, like an interior landscape, like buried stories that I couldn't tell otherwise. I always did that, all the time. Painting is for me both a game and a language. I paint like one makes music.
