About The Artwork

(From the series: Thoughts on the Characteristics the Literature of the Future Should Have, or Not) 10 recycled paper sheets, 10 reports Series of 10 By selecting ten representative dystopian science-fiction novels (one from each decade of the 20th century), I try to figure out the role of literature in these stories to make up an approximate cartography. Is this concept relevant to the plot? When did it appear throughout history? How is literature reflected in works that belong to the past but talk about the future? How did writers think that the literature of the future would be when they wrote such works? Is this literature more or less relevant than other concepts? Is it missing? Are there any significant changes when compared to the literature we have today? After writing ten reports analysing the role of literature in each of these works, I keep the fragments referring to literature and texts. The rest of these novels are then converted into recycled paper sheets on which I place the fragments chosen.
