ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The hexagon, or six sided polygon, has been an obsession of late. It represents one of the most efficient shapes in nature, the bee hive, the hive mind, the collective unconscious, one of the building blocks of sacred geometric formations and is also my exploration of the process of destruction that is required to create. In seeking a way to integrate various aspects of my personality, my work and my true expression into a more distinct voice, I felt the urge to create something ‘quilt’ like, something symbolic but beautiful and that we all need and use, something paper that ‘feels’ like it could be fabric, something that connects to a deep sense of inter-connectedness to the whole of humanity. Each hexagon was hand cut from original paintings,some from found paper or collage pieces, entire work is hand assembled. Actual size 24"h x 18"w, Ships without frame, backing is acid free art paper, will be sprayed with UV protectant which may have slight odor, but please don't hang in direct sunlight. Signed and titled on reverse.

I am an intuitive artist, currently residing in Los Angeles with my adopted calico cat, Cousin Lola. I love a great cup of coffee, the smell of smoke and oranges, New Orleans, designing apparel, roasted hazelnuts, vintage clothing, horseback riding, fog, minimal living and collecting and cutting found objects and papers for my work. Themes in my work often revolve around nature, myth, goddess/god, dreams,the occult, race and tribal culture, nomads and nomadic existence, the history of humanity, psychology, etc. I began to understand the world and humanity through art, thus many of my pieces may touch on what appear to be traditional themes. I see them as universal themes, straight from our collective unconscious. I work without intent, clearing my mind to allow the piece to take on its own life, to let go control and become a conduit for this universal expression.
