About The Artwork
This original collage of a Manhattan Cocktail is made entirely from used and expired New York City subway tickets. The black areas are composed from the magnetic strips of subway tickets while the colorful pieces are cut out from the yellow and orange areas of the MetroCard design. The white pieces are from the back of the subway tickets. The cherry uses a special edition MetroCard that included red coloring. Nina Boesch collects all subway tickets herself and receives ticket donations from friends, family, and local NYC non-profit organizations. She is not affiliated with the Metropolitan Transit Authority... just a self-made Brooklyn-based recycle artist. The collage is composed on flat (unstretched) canvas and sold in a white frame with a white mat. Frame size: 14.75"x11.75" Artwork size: 8"x10"
