Melting Heart Collage

Sookie Brarou is a collage artist based in Brussels, Belgium. An integral aspect of her body of work is first and foremost surrealism. Each piece intends to project the observers in improbable scenes, which look like a postcard from another dimension or a projection in the future. The notions of terrestrial scale, gravity and perspective are questioned through themes such as climate change, the space race, and femininity. Her collages are made out of stock pictures, which are reworked digitally.  The creative process of each of them is invariably unique, in the sense that cuts, scales and hues were rethought until their image fragments feel like they were meant to be assembled.
