ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This watercolor is part of a series of abstract color compositions that started off as an simple color experiment. The brush strokes and composition lines then guided met towards a title or subject. In this case it became sailboats in the distance with reflections. A stamp of a fish added to the theme while a piece of packaging torn from garden poison (lokaas in Afrikaans or translated to bait) gave a spash of color but also played along with the sailboat theme.
