About The Artwork
Sky Triangles and Boner is dada in the sense that it mostly composed itself from free literature, cast-off collage cuttings and copying a previous work as a means of just starting. The apparent gender and racial politics also are remnants from previous work. Generally, my new work aims to invert the solitary grim figure prevalent in contemporary art by exploring/embracing a positive way of representing the contemporary figure in helpful and supportive relationships. I haven't analyzed this piece to understand if it follows my stated intent. I suspect yes because I sense a long overdue discussion. Image size is 14x17" on 18x24" 90lb cream color paper. I note at the bottom of my newer works all sourced references, including, art people, publications, channels, and anon where the source has been misplaced or unknown.

I'm a narrative painter formerly employing landscape metaphor as a point of visual departure in abstracts. Recently I have begun to work more figuratively and with text to build accessible storylines through collage with the belief that all viewers can connect with the figure relationships. These collages serve as the laboratory for oil paintings. My subject is contemporary city life and I draw reference from street life, both contemporary and past era artists, and the evolving social construct.
