Torn 2 Collage

'Torn 2' is a piece using larger sections of ripped posters and using the joyous pattern of fragmented type as well as colour. Pasted on to wooden board to give the paper pieces solidity, these larger tears pulled from billboards over the last few years create a vibrant mosaic of colour and type accentuated by the broken letters. This is my take on those street posters torn by wind and rain which creates such extraordinary random street art and although on a smaller scale, I thrill to see these ripped posters segments sit together in harmony. I hope any viewer will also enjoy the dynamic composition of this artwork which has been inspired by the world around us.
