Transience I Collage

The work titled Transcience has been created as an overview of the works I have created over previous years, which have not seen the light of day as such. Energy, concentration, and scrutiny have been invested in each individual work and, as such, there is a bond between them and myself on a certain psychological level, as well as in the context of their physical taking of space. As time passes, particular problems occur, starting with the lack of physical space for storing and archiving them, to the particular psychological moment in the context of good works which have, from my own perspective, become bad, and have, therefore, been put behind me. Destruction of old works, i.e. their re-composition, conditionally speaking, brings forth their end; and on the other side, their beginning when, by recomposing them, I come by new works. By the synergy of old works, a new energy, a new aesthetic, is unleashed. The visual component of old works, such as articulated artistic elements (color, line, plane…) is absent, and a new work is created, one that exhibits an accentuated surface texture and uniformity of the plane.
