About The Artwork
The crisis around the Globe inspired a series of works relating to text, messages etc. Long before the Cover -19 I began to use texts with positive messages with the works i.e. laser cutter on wood, fabric etc. This Waistcoat a functional or non-functional art brings Hope to a world in crisis. The work is richly layered with stitch using the digital sewing machine. The category can be varied from Documentary, Politics, styles : Expressionisum, Fine Art,Crafts. Working with different materials, experimenting with new tools is a part of the challenge of being an artist.

1944.Nairobi,Kenya. Most of my life has been spent in the UK and USA where I was also educated and have made my home. Travel has played an important part of my life and work. The work is influenced by place, time and memory. The artwork is textile based in which stitchery,collage and stitch is used in conjunction with digital photography. Recent work is in collaboration with a Poet in which the text is layered with stitch to add density of surface. These works are executed on handmade felt.
