About The Artwork

I will start the description of this work by saying that I am Russian and I am very hurt by what is happening now in Ukraine (for obvious reasons) and within Russia.I still do not understand how in the modern world, where the main value is the life of a person, the state, and even people can't get along? Any conflict should be resolved through diplomacy, negotiations. And it is they who will eventually bring peace to Ukraine and Russia - the negotiations. What was the inspiration for this work? - The pain of reading the news and the hope that love will save the world. I want to remind people how many Russian-Ukrainian families there are in the world, how much love there used to be between our peoples. That is why, recently, I have been looking for similar Russian-Ukrainian families, looking for love stories between our peoples, stories that will possibly unite us again. Why did I use the image of Romeo and Juliet in this work? From the first reading of William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" in my school years, I was amazed by their love story. And I still believe that this story should have a different ending - a happy one. Their death always seemed ridiculous to me, and this is not an evil fate - it is the fault of their parents. The play written by Shakespeare has become an unchanging classic, but we write our own story: Romeo and Juliet in the modern world must live together long and happily!

Kristina Vinokur was born in Kirov, Russia in 1993. Like many other lucky people, she managed to turn her hobby (drawing and playing music) into a profession. In 2020 Kristina got married and gave birth to a daughter — Sarah, then she moved to Prague with her family, where she lives and works at the moment. Currently, the main areas in which Kristina works are fluid art, which is dedicated to the series of works «Magic exercises», and also cloud landscapes in various styles. But according to the artist herself — this is just the beginning. "I’d like my art to become my voice, my way of communicating with the world and my way of influencing on it. I’d like to touch on important social and environmental topics, and change the world for the better together with you."
