I got inspiration for this painting from Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres. The Turkish Bath. My newer work is all Digital. That means the work exists as a file unless it is printed out. The smaller seizes I print out on Hahnemühle Büttenpaper. The bigger seizes - normally above 100 cm on canvas. I seldom use photo reference. My images are rendered within the 3D environment and then digitally painted.

While still studying at the Kunstakademie in Munich Rogner’s work was in demand by publishers and magazines. Besides exhibitions his work could be seen on over two hundred book and magazine covers all over the world. The content of his work, painted mostly in acrylic and watercolour, was shaped by realism . In 1997 he exchanged brush and paint for a Mac Computer and his work went digital. He is applying 3D Technology to explore stories from ancient times to the post modern 21st century Art History. "If you look at my portfolio here at Saatchi you will recognize that my style is not having a style. From the realistic to abstraction I am using whatever is suited for ideas that come to my mind. This spectrum of style is made possible through using a computer. For me it is important to try out new approaches to my ideas, I would be bored very soon, if I felt trapped in a style with my work. The moment I left the Akademie of Arts in Munich, I left the Academic World behind and I never looked back. Through work as an Illustrator I was often challenged to broaden my perception on how to approach a subject. I work in editions of seven paintings. If you see a sale marker here on Saatchi it doesn't mean the edition is sold out.
