Spark of an Idea Artwork

The original goal of this artwork was to take a simple light bulb and use its unique shape and brightness to create something interesting. This was during a period when I was trying to make artwork using man-made objects as a base for art designs (Figurative art style). I settled on the idea that in cartoons when someone comes up with a 'bright' idea a light bulb appears above their head. Which is why I named this piece 'spark of an idea.' The large bright sparks on the inside of the light bulb repeat in the background. To represent bringing our ideas to fruition and making them tangible. The dark red background was used to help amplify the bright whiteness inside the light bulb and showcase the repetition via negative space.
