The divine blessing With so many natural disasters occurring over all this planet your imagination hears those silent whispers everywhere “is this some kind of divine punishment for all the evils that we have done or are doing right now.” Then immediately one conjures up an image coming right out of those tales from the medieval ages of someone going to his spiritual leader to ask for a divine pardon for all the sins committed even if they were fictitious in a desperate bid to ward off the dark clouds lurking overhead. And so, adopting my usual way of working which starts with the glimmer of some feelings for something or another everyday event. As the image slowly develops on the sheet of paper, it has now become an idea with the colours in mind to give it a sentimental quality. Then chuckling at this witticism, I sat down before my electronic pad and began to work on a graphic conception as a representation of this idea. The image was given a lightweight and airy atmosphere to increase that imaginative and not so serious look with the yellow fingers to show a sort of divine inspiration hovering overhead above like some protective shield. The face has that timid look of the accused person having to answer before a higher authority. The work is then digitally printed and transferred onto a Hahnemuehle Pure cotton Rag art paper with deckle edges of 308 gm using pigmented coloured inks. Format: 32.9 x 48.3 cm Edition comprises of the six numbered prints for sale plus one artist’s proof which is not for sale. Signature with the print number of edition by the artist also a certificate of authenticity of artwork. Price of each print - 250€ or the complete edition of six prints – one thousand euro.
