Marco Ciarciaglino (b. 1963, Florence) is a contemporary digital artist whose work represents a sophisticated dialogue between classical craftsmanship and modern technology. Born and raised in the heart of Florence, his artistic identity was forged within the city’s timeless aesthetic, beginning with his foundational studies at the Artistic Lyceum. His technical background is remarkably broad, spanning traditional mastery in oil, acrylic, and watercolor painting, as well as the intricate world of fine art printmaking. Marco is highly skilled in demanding disciplines such as etching (acquaforte), chalcographic printing, and woodcut (xilografia)—traditional methods that require profound patience and precision. His formal training also led him to the prestigious "Scuola Libera del Nudo" at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, where he refined his mastery of the human form. In the digital era, Marco has translated this wealth of manual experience into an aesthetic that transcends traditional figurative art. His digital paintings, created with a graphics tablet and a stylus sensitive to both pressure and tilt, carry the soul of a classical painter. In his work, animals, landscapes, and human figures emerge from his imagination, often evoked or suggested rather than explicitly defined. This approach, which gained international recognition when ComputerArts magazine featured his work in their curated reader gallery, now finds its fullest expression in his studio, CiarciArt. Here, Marco continues to bridge centuries of technique—from the tactile mark of an etching needle on zinc to the vibrant freedom of the digital canvas. By integrating his printmaking expertise with the immediacy of the digital pen, he leverages a deep knowledge of classical light and texture to produce high-resolution digital paintings. He chooses to work exclusively in digital media, finding in this technology the perfect balance between precision and expressive freedom. His works, signed with the initials M.Ciarcia, are available exclusively as premium fine art prints, professionally fulfilled by Saatchi Art. This allows Marco to focus entirely on his creative vision: merging the spirit of a Florentine painter with the infinite possibilities of contemporary digital art.
