After his graduation from Visual Communication, Adithyaa has been working as a full-time Artist. His interest towards Art started when he was 5 years old watching his father draw and paint before him. His father has preserved all of his childhood drawings (including the scribblings) as a part of his doctorate research on Child Art, which he continues to reminisce. His Art journey initially started by implementing Heritage found objects in his work, some of which included the antique Sewing Machine, Heritage houses in Bangalore and many others. In 2020, he had his first solo exhibition ‘Living In The Past’ a series of paintings of Heritage value at The Goa State Museum. Over the years the subject of his work gradually shifted to a much more abstract and spiritual concept when he discovered the works of G R Santosh and was captivated by its sheer mysticism. This discovery created an interest in him to research on Indian Tantra, Spirituality which eventually led him to work on the series of ‘Shapes & Forms’. His journey was to understand the relation and reaction between the shapes with one another when composed in a space. In 2022, he had my second solo exhibition ‘Shapes & Forms’ a series of Abtract paintings at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bengaluru which was well received by many Senior Artists and Art Critics. In order for him to work on any of the above subjects, the contribution and influence of his father is predominant. He has been learning under him, the rare and forgotten technique of Traditional Indian Watercolour Wash Method. This technique involves thin and repeated washes of colour and water on the artwork to achieve a sublime and meditative effect. Apart from his father being a driving force for him as a young artist, he follows a very niche circle of thinkers, philosophers and spiritual personalities like J Krishnamurti, Ramana Maharshi and many others who are very closely related to his work and philosophy. An avid lover of Hindustani Classical Music and a Violinist too, music plays an important role in his works and the music of great Indian Classical Musicians like Pt Mallikarjun Mansur, Pt Kumar Gandharva, Ustad Amir Khan and Ustad Vilayat Khan influence his work immensly. In fact his upcoming series of paintings are based on the concept of ‘Sound & Silence’.
