A Mother and Baby (to be) – Limited edition of 1 Drawing

This drawings is concerned about one subject matter: both the mother and the baby to-be. The subtle silhouette of a pregnant woman (top right) is drawn using brush & white acrylic on white satin silk. This second drawing (below & centre) is a trace of lines of the new-born in the arms of the new mother done using brush on white linen with black permanent fabric ink. Both drawings interlink with a string of fabric draping down as if resembling the umbilical cord. The are no clear lines or pictographically achieved images to reinstate the fact that this is still to come, things will come together one way or another. The drawings are carefully stitched together onto a single piece of fabric (in this case natural silk) and then wrapped around and fixed onto the mounting board to make sure it is flat and ready to be framed.
