« A woman» Charcoal on paper, 21x29cm This drawing is inspired by an anonymous woman I overheard yell "I love you" at the Barcelona Train Station last summer. I couldn't help trying to imagine what her story was...knowing obviously nothing about her, I invented it and then drew the lady. Here is her story as I imagined it : The woman will be gone for three months, and her lover will not be able to see her, even once. Yet, she feels relieved and a bit excited. She knows that this whole idea of taking a break from each other will be good for them. It is best for their relationship. She thinks about how they’ve been together for nearly two decades without leaving each other, not even for one day. This time apart is a test that will only strengthen them. But when the train pulls away, she almost changes her mind, it's too late... - she can't help but yell "I love you" and "come back soon" as the train pulls away.
