Abrade series: As it happened Drawing

This ink drawing was created on acid free paper. The paper was then mounted onto an Ampersand cradled wood panel and sealed with art grade high shine resin. Techniques used to create this artwork include brushing, folding, scoring, cutting, scratching, abrasion, sticking, resin pouring. Regular and measured horizontal lines contrast with intuitively created random marks, exploring the relationship between order and chaos. The marks and imperfections are in the spirit of wabi-wabi, embracing the beauty of flawed and time worn surfaces. The high gloss resin finish not only protects the artwork, but creates a pleasingly incongruous textural contrast. This artwork is ready to hang and does not require a frame.
