My inspiration comes from the world around me... walks at sunrise... hikes in the hinterlands... drives across country... days in the garden ... faces seen… even weeds found by the roadside. All of my work is on paper using a variety of media applied with my hands, pencils, pens, brushes, rags. My process is to add, remove, wipe, smudge, erase, sometimes dampen then add again – working layer upon layer. My art creates a place of respite by tapping into the raw simple beauty embedded in our lives, our days.
