Anna Blincoe was born in Kerteminde, a small town on the island of Fyn in Denmark – with a Danish mother. However most Anna Blincoe´s childhood was spent in Malaysia, where her British father worked as a manager of plantation estates. This period in her life stands out as one of the most important sources of inspiration for her paintings and drawings. Anna Blincoe uses a variety of techniques such as graphite, ink, oil paint and charcoal. In 1994 she had her work exhibited in one of the major juried exhibitions in Copenhagen "Den Frie" (Efterårsudstilling), Centre of Contemporary Art and has since shown her work in numerous exhibitions both in Denmark and abroad. In 1978 Anna Blincoe moved from Malaysia to England, where she later received her education in fine art. After completing a BA Hons in Fine Arts in 1994 Anna Blincoe moved back to Denmark and now lives her family just north of Copenhagen.
