About The Artwork
I painted this portrait in Thailand, in the city of Phuket, when I was far away from my children and missed them dearly. When I became a mother and my son was born, followed by my daughter, maternal feelings and parental responsibility for them also emerged. Now they are grown up and independent, but I always pray to God for their well-being. I always wanted to shield and protect them. Our children trust us, especially at a young age when they are vulnerable and in need of our love and care. How willing are we as adults to give them that? Through the eyes of this little one, I wanted to depict the experiences and life challenges he has already faced at his young age. I want to remind with this portrait about the importance of empathy, especially towards children who rely on us. This portrait was recognized as the winner and took first place in the international competition "Golden Time Talent" in 2022 in the United Kingdom (London).
