"Comienzo" Drawing

Based in Essex, I'm largely a self-taught painter, though I studied art at National High School of Applied Arts "Dimitar Dobrovich" and after that at Academy of fine arts “Jules Pascin” in Bulgaria around twenty years ago. At that time, I explored collage and painting rather than weaving technic, so it's been a joy to rediscover woven tapestry in the years since graduation. I am completely captivated by abstract art, using shapes, lines, color and non – traditional imagery to make my expression about the human condition. My geometrical forms express human emotions and feelings. I use a wide range of materials, most of them natural threads, and I also combine different weaving techniques. From time to time I vary my subject matter with a landscape or some urban composition, but abstract art remains my true obsession.
