ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I had been intrigued by the challenge that drawing a realistic dragon presented, but what kicked it off was when a fantasy author contacted me inquiring about doing one inspired by her upcoming trilogy to include in her book. I was excited about the idea and got to work combining 6 to 7 lizard and iguana reference photos to achieve the textures and parts I envisioned. I then found various other references photos of other animals to use and in the end, I named it ‘Eyevar’ after the dragon in the books from the author that contacted me. This original artwork will be for sale at The Other Art Fair Sydney - May 11-14
