Eastern Wild Turkey Drawing

I am fascinated by turkey and the different species. I referenced Eastern Wild Turkeys that we raise on our farm and wild flocks near our home in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. While the turkeys are the focal point, I have also had a deep connection to nature and mountains, especially the Quachita and Ozark Mountains in Arkansas. When I need to clear my head or need inspiration I can always find serenity and a flow of imagination while hiking the woods and mountains. This piece was completed in graphite, colored pencil, and ink. Several years ago I found that I enjoyed the medium of colored pencil which allowed me to have precise control over detail. I call my style semi-realism from pure imagination. I have worked to develop my style, one that I hope is easily recognizable from other artists.
