ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Emergence series is inspired by the repetition of natural forms at many different scales. Fine rayon thread is stitched and layered through illustration board. The mark-making is reminiscent of pen&ink, but with a dimension that becomes apparent upon closer inspection. This 10" x 8" composition is matted and placed in a custom frame that measures 14" x 11" x 1"

Jennifer E. Moss is a Savannah based fiber artist, educator and independent curator whose work explores the mutability of the natural world and humanity’s relationship with it. Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States and has been published in 500 Felt Objects from Lark Books, Worldwide Colours of Felt from Textile-link and Dimensional Cloth from Schiffer Publishing. She has participated in residencies in Paducah, KY, Montgomery, AL, and at Society for Contemporary Craft in Pittsburgh, PA. In addition to her studio practice Moss teaches full time. She is a founder of Sulfur Studios in Savannah, GA, and currently serves as treasurer for Arts Southeast.
