Claudio Capotondi, born in the ancient Etruscan city of Tarquinia in Italy in 1937, has lived and worked in Rome, New York and Pietrasanta near the marble quarries, where he personally created and sculpted his sculptures. He now resides in the city of Tarquinia. To date he has produced 20 public works of art in Italy, the United States, Japan, Libya and has held solo exhibitions in Rome, Florence, Turin, Carrara, Bari, New York, Paris, Finland and group exhibitions in many cities around the world. In the year 2000 he received the coveted Michelangelo Award from the city of Carrara and in the year 2017 the Pietrasanta Award of Versilia in the world. His sculptures are found in several public and private collections.
