This is a portrait of the ancient Roman general, statesman and dictator Gaius Julius Caesar. It is based on a green slate bust from the 1st century AD. The aim with my interpretation was to offer a glimpse into the real person, hence the oval patch that reveals the real eyes of Caesar.
