About The Artwork
A large scale portrait of my grandfather. I wanted to capture his strong personality within the portrait. The expression within his face is the moment just before he is about to tell us something, yet nothing is said. I chose to do this work on such a large scale so that the viewer has to look up to his face, in order for me to show the importance of family. When i showed my Grandfather the drawing he commented on how pleased he was that he was wearing his mexican shirt.
