About The Artwork
For me, the spider represents maternal, wiser, older, feminine, crone energy. Louis Bourgeois made spiders and I am reminded of her when working on these drawings made with crayons. Art supplies are expensive, and the use of crayons brings me back to simpler times as a child. To be honest, I didn’t draw that much when I was little. The spider represents the ability to solve problem, weaving through puzzles, the nature of creation and exploration.
