I have been waiting for hours Drawing

Betsy has compulsively drawn and painted her entire life. Her wide range of influences include Hieronymus Bosch, Henry Darger, pictorial lace and microscopic organisms. Using the flowing splatters of ink and paint as a starting point she draws what she sees in the underpainted surface. She builds her work through this pareidolic method until the creatures and their activities are fully realized. She prefers the work to instruct her to its needs rather than force a latent image into being. She is unconcerned with plot or narrative and considers the finished pieces more akin material culture artifacts rather than illustrative art.
