I was born in Lamego, a litle city on north of Portugal, on the Douro Valley, and currently i work and live in Oporto. My work is about the intersection between textile and the other artistic camps as painting, scupture, drawing and video. I´m using textile as conducting thread to the ideas, processes, or to the materials. I like the idea of bring textile to fine arts it have a tension of being at the same time funcional and a work of art. For me using textile as a medium has become someting where many points come together and i can talk about things as time, memory, conections. I dedicated my master degree in studing the interseccion between drawing and textile and the performatives qualities of drawing informed by the gestures of textiles processes . We all know the resemblense betwween the line and thread, in my drawings these line is more like a thread that be part of a my intimate caligraphie. The materials are very importante for me, and the sense of touch tels me every thing about how these material have to be eworked, transformed in some thing diferent. I love to work in a continuos process and i like when one thing leding to another.
