About The Artwork
This was another jazz-inspired piece. I grew up in Alabama and one of the fondest memories I have of the South is a Saturday night I spent in a juke joint way out in the middle of nowhere. It was called Gibs and sadly it's no longer around, but the atmosphere in that place was electric blue. Everyone dancing and sweating out the worries of the week while a whiskey-soaked blues band pours it out on stage. This drawing is what Gibs felt like.
