About The Artwork
I was inspired by Raphael’s drawings. My goal was to bring in a gesture that captured her 1940s pin-up girl characteristics. The use of charcoal gave me the flow I was aiming for, causing me to create a landscape quality in the figure’s facial features.

Alice Torres spent most of her life working in the textile industry as a surface textile designer. For most of her adult life, she has lived in the Inwood section of Manhattan. She enjoys drawing especially the living, breathing nude model. Alice has shown her artwork at the Student Concours exhibition in the Phyllis Harriman Gallery of the Arts Students League of New York. Whenever possible, she attends classes at the Art Students League of New York.
