About The Artwork

My digital form of popart that I use to artistically represent a diversity of themes ended up being intensely impregnated in my art style and also in the use of traditional painting techniques, as was the most recent case in the use of colored pencils. I love making portraits because, in addition to being extremely symbolic, they carry a lot of information about the person portrayed, such as how high will be the contrast intensity to be used, the chosen pose, highlighting the illuminated areas, among others, and allow to understand a little the person's personality along the art production. This portrait, made for my popart portraits portfolio, was produced in color pencils on paper and it is a tribute to the Brazilian Carlos Marighella who fought, in the 60s of the last century, against the military dictatorship that deprived various cultural segments of freedom in Brazil. . The vast majority of photos of this man portray him very seriously, but I chose one that had a more natural and less political physiognomy. The technique of painting with colored pencils demands attention, dedication and no rush from the person who uses it, as it is a technique that delate the artist in a hurry.

I´m working as a professional illustrator since 1991 and started in 2007 my popart style working.. As illustration is based on tradicional art, the practice in different art techniques helped me to find my own artistic style. Nowadays I´m using pop art to represent my ideas. I always has appreciated stained glasses. My pop arts are a review of this art style combining its colors and contrasts with digital production and now my painted sustainable popart . The structure of my artworks are based on stained glass style with the main theme to the foreground and background with icons reinforcing the foreground idea.
