OFFICIAL WEBSITE INSTAGRAM My oil painting is a raw and primal method of self-expression - a cathartic attempt to transfer the emotion of daily like and relationships ito visual realization. A Majority of my work is begun on dark, enigmatic backgrounds, reflecting the depths of the subconscious and the unknown or unseen. With bursts of colour melting into shapes I've sought to bring fourth imagery from these backgrounds with an emotional stream-of-consciousness. As well as major influences from the surrealist movement in my thinking and my practice, from Rene Magritte to Hans Bellmer and many more, (Dorothy Tanning & Max Earnst, Miro, Dhali..). Significantly, the female figure plays a pivotal role as subject matter in many of my works, advencing expressions of eroticism while exploring topics such as fetishism, androgyny, and gender identity, in an effort to engage with, expose, and summon to discussion topics which I believe have not yet been fully or fairly understood in modern society. Focusing on a brighter use of my palette and understanding subtle shadow hues, I am working to develop a striking luminescense in my developing and future works, in a sense shining a light onto the honed expressive forms of subconscious imagery practiced over the past eight years which have been emerging from the dark background.
