Milan Golob was born in 1963 in Ljubljana (Slovenia). In 1987 he graduated in physics from the Faculty for Mathematics and Physics in Ljubljana. In the following year he studied history of art at the Faculty of Arts (1987/88). However, he soon chose painting, and in 1993 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. A year before he was awarded the Student Prešeren’s Prize for painting. In 2003 he received the Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant in the USA. In 2005 he was nominated for the Henkel Art Award in Vienna. In 2007 he was selected for the work scholarship by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia and study residence in Berlin. In the 1995-2000 period he was the editor-in-chief of the Likovne besede (Art Words) magazine. His works are part of several art collections. Milan Golob often exhibits either independently or collectively in Slovenia and abroad. As a free-lance artist he lives and works in Radenci and Kupšinci (Slovenia).
