Ortigia Wedding Drawing

Alison, originally a London advertising art director, moved to Hampshire to raise her family, and be near the sea. Half graphic designer, half illustrator, she shuns a sketch book in favour of an iPad. Alison’s drawings are all done on an App called ‘Paper.’ From the sparkle on the sea, to the shine on a cherry or a reflection in a plate glass window, the luminosity of drawing with a tablet, makes it perfect a perfect medium for expressing light. The fact the images start out digital also makes it perfect for many of her commercial clients. High Victorian architecture, foreign travel and images both above and below the sea, are recurrent themes. So what next? “I’m illustrating an ebook using the app, and hope to be taking the iPad scuba diving for a sketch in the near future.”
