ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Pavillon Turgot, Louvre. Part of the present day Louvre Palace, Paris. Pavillon Turgot is one of many Pavillons I saw while visiting the Louvre but was the one that immediately drew my attention. The details, especially on the top of this building were so beautiful I had to draw them. This highly detailed drawing comes framed and double mounted, creating a black edge around the drawing, in a sleek black frame with extra clear glass.

Max Kerly is a London based artist and illustrator specialising in architectural drawings. Predominently, but not limited to, using black fine liner pens. Max exquisitely captures the intricate detail within his chosen depiction, creating very accurate representations. His subject matter comes directly from places seen in person amongst his travels. Often these buildings and places will have had an immediate impact and lasting impression. Travelling has been central to his inspiration and progression and will remain his focus in order to develop his portfolio with an array of material coming from different Cities, with different architecture. He is an associate member of the Society of Graphic Fine Art which is a society that promotes fine drawing skills in both traditional and contemporary media. In his second exhibition for the SGFA he won an award for 'Best under 30's' for his titled artwork 'Hotel de Ville' (Oct 2017). Max was also shortlisted for the National Open competition 2016. Max graduated from Southampton Solent University with a Ba Hons in Illustration in 2014. It was on this course, after being introduced to a wide range of options, where he learnt his passion was of an architectural nature.
