Artist and philosopher personal → → → studio → projects → → → Gottfried Binder *1979 in Romania After graduating from high school in 2000 and a subsequent stay in London, studied Philosophy / History of Art / Indology at the University of Leipzig and Media Art at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig. In his philosophical master’s thesis in 2011, he questioned the connection between universal epistemology and everyday issues; In 2015, the cinematically realized diploma thesis revolved around playful self-assertion strategies in contemporary art. In addition to numerous exhibitions and artistic projects, he was involved in student self-organization and worked as a newspaper delivery boy, system caterer, nurse for disabled people, night attendant, warehouse worker and scientific university employee before he was a lecturer, curator and publicist in Leipzig. The editorial focus includes illustrated books, documentations and catalogues, artists’ books and small editions as well as experiments in graphic design products – in analogue form as printed editions as well as in digital publishing. From 2016 he taught ethics and art in Dresden before he set out on a journey with his dog and walked to his birthplace in Romania. In 2018, on the occasion of the European Year of Cultural Heritage (EYCH), the socio-cultural project DÆTA, funded by the EU, the city of Detta and the German Embassy in Bucharest, took place there. With the ANA project, this research approach was continued from 2019 as an official part of the cultural program of Timisoara as European Capital of Culture 2023. 2020/21 course leader at the Nuremberg Education Center with a focus on art and film, 2021/2022 scholarship holder at the University of Art and Design Linz, 2022 project manager of the AG Kulturelle Bildung at the BBK Bayern.
