As I explore the world around me I pay special attention to the human being. His form, image, manner, gait. Each of us is a unique set of data, expressed outside in the form of a visual formula, an image. And for us, as viewers and observers, this formula is the only thing available. It is this formula that we are able to build up a view of the inner world of a person, a hero, a character. So what is our hero like? Who is he? What is he like, the begging man? What inner processes make him look so pitifully at the object outside the frame? Is his gaze unique, is it filled with a personal story, or is it just a common, unified image of the begging? These are the questions I ask myself when looking at this work. These are the questions I want you, the viewer, to ask.

What was the basis of my art? People. Living in the middle of a big city I had a great opportunity to observe people. I always preferred the noisy, crowded avenues to the quiet, distant corners. Day after day, I watched people passing by from heel to tip of the nose. The gait, the pace, the stance of the feet, the inclination of the body, the posture, the character, the facial expressions, the creases, the ears, the eyebrows - I was interested in everything! A face reflecting thoughts, hands telling habits. Long years of gathering theoretical information, building connections and schemes in my head gave me the ability to change... Change what? Reality. Can any of my drawings be classified as realism? I think not. Is there reality in my paintings? I think so. So I came to the point of formulating the main goal and idea of my art. Studying the psychology and tactics of manipulation of some objects by others, I observe the influence of the brain and emotions on the external appearance, exploring the depths of the psyche and the possibilities of living. And in my works I distort the external under the influence of the internal, considering the importance of both.
