“Primal Gaze” is a hyperrealistic graphite portrait of a mandrill — one of the most expressive and visually striking primates in nature. I am a hyperrealistic pencil artist dedicated to capturing emotional depth through silence, precision, and fine detail. Working primarily with graphite on paper, I spend 80+ hours on each drawing, transforming the quiet intensity of stillness into a powerful visual experience. My work often explores the tension between vulnerability and strength — whether in the human gaze or the raw presence of animals. Over the years, my drawings have been recognized internationally. I’m honored to be a recipient of the International Velázquez & Goya Award (2024), the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts Award (2023), and Best in Show at the AD ART Show (2020). Earlier accolades include wins at the Wild Art Exhibition in New York and the Gallery Choice Award in the All Animals Art Competition for my piece “Zebra.” My creative process is meditative, intuitive, and highly disciplined. Through this practice, I hope to connect with collectors and curators who appreciate emotional storytelling expressed through technical mastery.
