Original drawing on quality Snowdon paper, supplied unframed. This piece is based on years of observational drawings of corals, fossils and the markings on stones and shells. The shape evolves through the drawing. I focus my attention and create a meditative space in which to play with the shapes ...

A lifelong study of the patterns and rhythms of the natural world underpins my work in two and three dimensions. Drawings, photographs and 3d pieces stand alone or may be used in combination to create installations in response to a space, a situation or a theme. I have especially enjoyed the challenge of creating commissioned pieces in unusual spaces - the stairwell of an architects London home, two pieces created for the window of an opticians, a piece zigzagging around an information screen at the University of Exeter - part of their sculpture trail. Sculptural pieces are made with wire and found materials to create three dimensional drawings, exploring movement, habitation, human and elemental intervention and relationships. These pieces may be shown inside and out, they may be fixed to a wall, suspended from a tree or placed in relation to a physical feature. My work has been exhibited widely throughout the UK. AWARDS/PRIZES: Hull and East Riding Award Major commission, British Telecommunications Oppenhiem- John Downes Memorial Award Birds Charity Award, Royal Academy Winsor & Newton Student Award, Regional Prizewinner Winsor and Newton Student Award, Finalists Prizewinner Arts Council Publication awards for two books COLLECTIONS INCLUDE: Liberty Global, London British Telecommunications Innocent Smoothies, London Womens Art Collection, Newhall College, Cambridge Coventry University Casino du Soleil, France Coventry University University of Exeter Studiodare Architects, London Andrew & Rogers Opticians, East Yorkshire Well Street Practise, London Kelvin Hall, Kingston-upon-Hull Numerous Private collections in Britain, Europe and USA.
