Saint Michael is my patron saint and I've always felt a particular devotion to him. I adore the painting of Saint Michael Vanquishing Satan by Raphael, and wanted to make an ode piece to it. Disobjectification of the soul is one’s overcoming of the misidentification with the psychophysical persona; meaning one’s body, emotions and ego. In traditional Catholicism, this process is exemplified in the saints giving themselves to Christ and embracing Christ over their temporal identities, desires and passions. Salvation only exists within the eternity of God and Christ, which exists within us. In John 14:20, Christ makes fractal principles of salvation and transcendence abundantly clear. There is zero separation between us, God, Christ, Heaven, the saints and angels. This mirrors field theory physics, which shows that the dielectric ether is eternal, which we are always connected to unless we choose to fractionate from it willingly. The ark of salvation is within everyone and humans only provide illusions that it is separate from us. If we are to be saved, we must give up our psychophysical self to God and therefore experience his divine grace in eternity. Identifying with God and Christ is the only path to salvation, and the saints are the exemplary models of how to transcend our physical bodies and enter the gates of eternity. Nicholas Frizalone (b. 1992) is an Italian American artist who lives and works on Long Island, NY. His work bridges the gaps between religion, metaphysics and field theory physics. Nicholas is one of the few artists today to continue the tradition of drawing and painting metaphysical and religious artwork in a contemporary aesthetic context. He currently exhibits his work throughout the world.
