Mirjana Beljanski is a Serbian painter whose work explores memory, dreams, and the delicate beauty of the human spirit. She began painting in early childhood, with her first solo exhibition at age 11 and international recognition soon after, earning a silver medal at the Biennale in Kanagawa, Japan. She attended numerous state competitions and artist colonies, developing a classical foundation. At 19, she paused her art journey — a silence that lasted two decades. At 39, she returned to painting with a powerful sense of purpose, revisiting the dreams of her youth with mature introspection. Her work evokes both nostalgia and timelessness, inviting viewers to remember the parts of themselves they may have abandoned. Technique Her process is deeply inspired by the Old Masters. She works in oil on canvas, using traditional methods such as underpainting, glazing, and fine brushwork to achieve a rich depth of emotion and texture.
