The Flight of Brother Caine XI. Drawing

Part XI of a XV part series investigating, via abstraction, the fictitious events therein, the subjective image runs parallel to the backdrop to great effect. As it were, Brother Caine has been attributed the motives of the divine, symbolized via the concrete abstraction of the central imagery whereas, in the final five pieces, this being the initializing, the juxtaposition begins. Backgrounds being so often fundamental in precious miniatures throughout the visual arts, they attribute another sense to the overall aesthetic in this non-sequential paradigm also. Open to the eye's own interpretations, Brother Caine is perhaps in finality left to free will itself whereas the impetus of the divine will imposes without question, and is, therefore, the abstract form itself.
