About The Artwork

we cut down a tree! a plum. an act that seems innocuous and familiar when you live in the countryside.. and yet, today more than ever cutting down a tree is an act that takes on a particular meaning in the world where our whole environment is rocking, drifting because of our daily actions. This design is inspired by the prunus strain which, once cut, reveals a color and shapes conducive to pareidolia. The strain, deliberately ambiguous title in English (it's the same word in French) because isolated, this stump strongly resembles a cell. A cell, that's how we should think of ourselves, we humans, a simple cell in a large organism that we destroy without even understanding it. Drawing on cardboard from 2020

SC is based in a little village in Charente (France). She holds a DEA in Image Arts and Technologies as well as a Bachelor's degree in Arts. From the age of 16, she enrolled in Fine Arts in addition to her high school lessons. Inseparable from his life, engine of his existence, graphic and pictorial creation has taken different forms throughout his career and his experiences. Graphic designer, art teacher in mainland France and in Tahiti where she lived for more than 10 years, the tools and the smell of the workshop are never far away and always catch up with her. At a very young age, she began to draw, and it was her father, an entomologist who sharpened her gaze through the meticulous and attentive observation of Nature, it was also her father who gave her her first "lessons" in drawing and oil painting. From this look, she draws from her childhood this sensitivity to the preservation of the environment. And because it is essential today more than ever to take care of biodiversity and our planet, the work and life of SC are part of this essential approach to the conservation and defense of living things. Mother Nature as an infinite source of inspiration, as a source of materials to divert, to integrate, to triturate. Whether in his contemporary paintings, his watercolor illustrations, his drawings and more recently in his ceramics, plant, animal, marine, organic, anatomical nature is the common thread of SC's creations. And, to visit the workshop of SC, you will simply have to find the ruins of the bridge which did not exist...
