Anthony M. Richison is an emerging mixed media artist based in Des Moines, Iowa. As a colorblind Creator, Richison offers a unique lens on celestial energy prioritizing tonal range value contrast, and geometric structure over traditional color perception. His work is defined by its Meticulous hybrid excellence, merging traditional manual labor with modern technology. Each piece begins as a foundation study on paper, requiring 19 to 24 + hours of precise hand drawing before being evolved through digital and AI assistant synthesis. His star Mandala series has been noted for it's vibrating luminosity and its ability to respond to different light environments. To me the world looks different. Color is not a passive observation. It is a calculation of energy, light and contrast. As a colorblind artist, I am driven by a fascination with geometric certainty and the pulse of luminosity my signature series. The Star Mandala is a meditation on celestial order inspired by the ionizing gases. of the flaming star nebula. I am particularly drawn to the concept of the cosmic threshold, the boundary between our human reality and the infinite energy beyond. I represent this through structural symbols like mountain peaks, broken fences and tribal warrior motifs. My process is deeply interactive. I use UV reactive pigments so that the artwork has a hidden life that is revealed under black light. By blending the effort of the human hand with digital tools. I invite the viewer to step into a hyper real spectrum where structure and emotion take precedence.
