Hello, I’m Kasia Słania, an artist based in Warsaw, Poland. Though I grew up in the industrial town of Bytom in Silesia. It all began by studying interior design in Wrocław before discovering my true passion for drawing, painting, and printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków/Katowice, where I graduated with honors. Early in my career, I showcased my work in Poland and Germany before spending nearly twenty years working as an art director in advertising. Today, my artistic language merges drawing and painting—oil pastels, graffiti inks, and pencils are my main media. I view paper not just as a surface but as an active, physical partner in my work. My process is quick, tactile, and instinctive, characterised by thick lines, layered textures, and vibrant colours. An inspiration? Comes from the bold, patterned textiles of my childhood and the energetic contradictions of everyday life. At the core of my practice is a raw emotional clarity: fleeting moments of presence, thought, and form that emerge, intimate yet universal.
