About The Artwork

It is a series that I made in my temporary studio in the Vallée, Brussels. One of my colleagues was giving wooden boards, dyed blue. I took some to explore the possibilities of the material. So I started to recolors: blue and the color of produce the forms that I had discovered in my digital images. I dug the wood with my cutter in order to play with the twothe wood underneath. The series represents a roundup that I had photographed with my phone in a fountain in Vence (Côte d'Azur). I painted these photos in the Sketch app on my phone. Then it became a motif, an autonomous form. So I transcribed it through different media.

My work is part of a search for crossovers between the image created with a digital medium, painting and drawing. This mix is the result of my training, in painting at the National Academy of Fine Arts of Sofia (Bulgaria) and animation/digital image at the National School of Decorative Arts of Paris.  I have a great interest in image processing software. I use it as a painting tool and also as a means to explore the process of materialization/ dematerialization of painting. Indeed, I consider everything as painting. I print my digital images and transcribe them into drawing or painting. In the end, it gives birth to new, completely different works.  I am inspired by light, colour and exoticism. I define my creations as intuitive and intimate. According to my vision, art must be part of everyday life. Therefore, I use my smartphone a lot in my creation. I am often inspired by images posted on social networks, different places, meetings. Thus, my creation, a permanent work in progress, evolves within the new contexts.
